As the identity of the caller is unfortunately becoming more common, AT & T is now in a new crusade to increase the security of your voicemail. The company now requires new subscribers a voice mail password or something outside the security code. As AT & T said in its official blog of public policy
AT & T is automatically the default voice mail password to protect all new subscribers or a new line to an existing account. In addition, from early 2012, we will define the default voice mail password protected at all times to update or change your phone. This means that when you get a new device, you are prompted to set a password and use it unless you affirmatively disable this feature.
Existing customers can not be carried out by the new privacy policy until next year AT & T drives through the deployment time to its subscriber base. AT & T is adamant that they are not prepared to issue a voice mail password quite yet mandatory, and users always have the option to disable the password in the affirmative for the voicemail, if it is your choice.
